Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

Who is it available to?

Pupil premium funding is available to both mainstream and non-mainstream schools, like special schools and pupil referral units.

Funding for 2015 to 2016

In the 2015 to 2016 financial year, schools will receive the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years:

  • £1,300 for primary-aged pupils
  • £935 for secondary-aged pupils

Schools also receive £1,900 for each pupil who:

  • has been looked after for 1 day or more
  • has been adopted from care
  • has left care under:
    • a special guardianship order
    • a residence order
    • a child arrangement order

Funding for 2014 to 2015

In the 2014 to 2015 financial year, schools will receive the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years:

  • £1,300 for primary-aged pupils
  • £935 for secondary-aged pupils

Schools also receive £1,900 for each pupil who:

As our school has only just opened we do not have historic data on pupil premium funding allocation. When we receive our pupil premium funding allocation we will outline how we intend to use this and what impact we expect. We will provide this information on this page.

Other Funding Information

As per the information above, R.E.A.L. Education receives Pupil Premium funding.

R.E.A.L. Education does not receive PE and Sports Premium Funding.

R.E.A.L. Education does not receive Year 7 literacy and numeracy catch-up premium.
