Whilst most people have been having a relaxing time over the summer break, the maintenance team at R.E.A.L. have been busy updating, servicing and checking all the facilities are up to scratch in time for the new term.
Fire alarm systems and extinguishers have been serviced across all venues, with additional smoke detectors fitted at the Gallows, and statutory fixed wire checks and tests across all venues have also taken place alongside tests on all gas and heating systems.
The ground floor at Kings Mill Way looks great after being painted and decorated by Rob Lyons. Some hard work has also been taking place in R.E.A.L.’s outside spaces with general weeding, trimming and tidying up of the external areas.
There is some fantastic new digital signage across R.E.A.L. that was also installed over the summer.
Mark Spencer, Head of Health, Safety and Environment said: “The summer break was a great opportunity to undertake essential maintenance and improvements. We also had a few non-scheduled reactive tasks to deal with, including alarm activations, floods, blocked gutters and sheep herding(!).
“Thanks to the team for all their hard work.”
