A Brand New R.E.A.L. Site

R.E.A.L. has set its ambitions high with a proposed new independent school in Hinckley, Leicestershire. It is the newest addition to the R.E.A.L. Education learning sites. Located on Station Road in Hinckley, it is just a stone’s throw from the town centre.

With an Ofsted pre-inspection due before the summer holidays it is hoped that the school hub will be fully operational by September 2020. There will initially be a core curriculum offer with subjects such as English, maths, science and PSHE (personal, social, health and economic education), with a variety of vocational options being introduced as contacts with local business links and partners increase.

There has been significant investment into the site, which has been refurbished throughout. It includes a fully integrated kitchen, that will be used for cooking and catering provision, bespoke teaching spaces as well as a lounge area to create a nurturing environment for learners. The site also houses a new cutting-edge R.E.A.L. Creative Digital learning space which offers a truly unique approach, founded on work-based experience in the creative digital arts industry.

The site will also offer day placements to local schools and academies who are looking for alternative approaches for their learners to be educated. Longer term aspirations are to also establish a wide variety of vocational opportunities in the Leicestershire area.

Chris Newman, strategic lead at R.E.A.L. Education said: “I’m really excited about opening the new site in Hinckley and also welcoming staff and learners to our enhanced provision offer. There has been a lot of time and effort put into the project and it will be fantastic to have another base for our Leicestershire learners.

“Hinckley and Leicestershire seem to be really pro-active areas for businesses and services that interact with education. We are really looking forward to extending some of the useful community and business links we’ve made and to grow our offer for learners in the future.

“We really welcome anyone who would like to pop in to see the fantastic new facilities and to see what R.E.A.L. can offer to the community of Hinckley and the young people in the area – we’d love to meet you.”
