Clare Walker

Head of Personal Development

Clare is an experienced and qualified teacher and has 19 years management experience working in schools and colleges across the key stages in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Her experience includes managing a Pupil Inclusion Unit, working for the local authority and in partnership with Nottingham University, secondary and primary schools to raise standards in literacy, numeracy and develop the 14-19 curriculum. 

She spent four years as a Head of two departments managing the Special Educational Needs and Transitions provision.  Clare has a wealth of experience in Special Educational Needs, including personalised learning, behaviour management and quality assurance. She has worked with a variety of awarding bodies to develop independent living and employability skills programmes, which have challenged, motivated and engaged learners onto their next stage of learning.

Clare has worked at R.E.A.L as a member of the senior leadership team for five years and was appointed Head of Personal Development across all four schools in September 2020.  Clare is responsible for helping to prepare our learners for their future successes and for life in Modern Britain.  She is qualified in offering young people Personal Advice and is a trained Designated Safeguarding Lead.
