Learner Voice

Regularly held across R.E.A.L. sites, ‘Learner Voice’ meetings are an opportunity for learners to have their say about what happens at R.E.A.L., as well as giving them the opportunity to discuss what they feel is working well and what could be done better.

Learners are consulted on subjects such as educational visits, lunch time options, extra curricular activities and building layouts. They also take part in some interview panels for potential members of staff.

Michelle Farr, Learning Manager and Key Stage 4 Learning and Achievement Lead at R.E.A.L. said: “Learner Voice is a really important part of life at R.E.A.L., with meetings being held on a termly basis across most of the R.E.A.L. Education sites.

“Learners have recently worked with staff to have an input into the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) room at Concorde House. They even requested a Friday breakfast club, which now provides bacon sandwiches, toast and cereal to all learners that come to Concorde House on a Friday morning, setting them up for the day.”

RAPS Mansfield will became RIS Mansfield on 27th May. The new RIS website will be launching shortly.
