R.E.A.L. Virtual Christmas Market
Enterprising learners from the R.E.A.L. Alternative Provision Schools (RAPS) and R.E.A.L Independent Schools (RIS) have organised and hosted their own Virtual Christmas Markets from December 7th to December 16th.
Each year, the ‘£5 Grow Project’ challenges RAPS and RIS learners to develop their enterprise skills. Learners take £5 and use the skills learnt as part of their enterprise studies to ‘grow’ their investment.
Due to current Covid restrictions, learners were unable to hold their usual Christmas Market event. So they decided to organise a virtual event instead.
Learners got hands on to produce handmade gifts, edible goodies, and seasonal decorations that were then advertised on the R.E.A.L. social media channels, with hubs offering a ‘click and collect’ service for people wanting to purchase the Christmas delights.
Clare Walker, Head of Personal Development, said: “The ‘£5 Grow Project’ offers RAPS and RIS learners the opportunity to develop enterprising skills that will prove invaluable both in their academic life and future careers – it is always great fun too!”
