Top Marks for RAPS Towers

The R.E.A.L. Alternative Provision School (RAPS) cafe, RAPS Towers, had a surprise visit last month from an Environmental Health Officer (EHO).

On Friday 17th January, an EHO officer inspected the cafe kitchen and also examined their paperwork. After interviewing Hospitality Provision Lead Linda Neville, (one of the leads who run the RAPS cafe), their conclusion was that the cafe should pass the inspection with flying colours – giving it a 5 star rating!

The inspector’s report praised the cafe’s clean environment and mentions how there is a very good structure to the kitchen. It also comments that the cafe is well managed.

Linda Neville, who runs RAPS Towers at Woodhouse Road with Marie Harrower, said: “I am so proud of the team at the cafe. We do our best to deliver a professional service to all our customers. I am over the moon with our 5 star rating!”

RAPS Towers is open term time 8.30am to 9.30am, 10.45am to 11am, and 12pm to 12.45 pm, for learners, staff and visitors. It serves food such as baguettes, burgers, omelettes, jacket potatoes and a range of vegetarian alternatives. Keen to move towards even healthier options, the cafe also offers fresh fruit as well as a daily special.

RAPS Mansfield will became RIS Mansfield on 27th May. The new RIS website will be launching shortly.
