Last month, a group of R.E.A.L. Land Based Studies learners enjoyed a site visit to Winvic at their newest development for Alloga UK at Castlewood Business Park, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

The learners learnt about how the company delivers construction projects on a national scale and also got to experience ‘real-life’ work in action.

As part of the visit, learners completed a full health and safety induction, followed by a tour of the development including viewing the heavy plant/machinery and learning about the construction techniques used in a large scale warehouse development.

Russell Garland, Vocational Group tutor at Land Based Studies, R.E.A.L. Education said: “The day was a fantastic success – the learners all enjoyed it and learned a lot.

“It was great to see some equipment in action. Hopefully the visit will inspire our learners in their future day-today learning and also help them to shape their future career choices.

Thank you to the Winvic team!”

Dan Grainger, Winvic Site Manager at the Castlewood development said: “Winvic will always open their doors to organisations such as R.E.A.L. Education. It was a pleasure getting to know the staff and learners and seeing them enjoy the construction processes.”
